Inspire vs. Require is a major component of helping children gain a leadership education. Mentors sometimes struggle with what to do to inspire. Here are ten questions that can help you think of ways to inspire those you mentor.
1. What have I done lately to encourage my child to learn?
2. What am I excited about learning that I could share with my child?
3. What adventures have we had that also have interesting educational information?
4. Am I reading great books to my child to help them know more about the world?
5. What experiences can I create for my child?
6. What events can we attend that will invite learning?
7. What books do I hope my children will read and what can I do to introduce them?
8. How can I encourage a love of work in order to help my child be able to study?
9. What can we explore together?
10. What service can we offer together?
If you feel stuck in a rut with inspiring, you can start by asking yourself these questions. What other questions do you find helpful when trying to inspire?
