Leadership Connections Fall 2015

End of term presentation Core I love America Spring 2015
Leadership Connections is gearing up for our Fall 2015 semester. We start in late September, which allows everyone to get into a good routine with what they are doing at home. It also works out very nicely for a winter break for our group. We have six weeks of classes, two field trips, and two auxiliary days this fall.

One of the things that is amazing about our group is that the Mentor Moms have a relationship with each other outside of our co-op. We know each other and support each other in ways that go beyond our educational experiences. This is possible because we meet together monthly for our mom book group.

This fall we have one scholar class, which is Shakespeare. I have the privilege of mentoring this class and I can't wait! I have so many exciting and fun things that I want to share with our youth. My biggest problem is definitely going to be winnowing all the things I want to cover into six weeks. Our apprentice scholar classes are the following: Literature-The Miracle Worker, Immersion Spanish, and Physics Lab. The Literature class and the Shakespeare class are at the same time. The other two hours will be combined Apprentice Scholar/Scholar classes.

Our love of learning classes will include Spell to Write and Read, Story of the World-Ancients part 1, and World Geography. Our core classes are Language Arts through Books, P.E./Safety, and Hand Crafted Gifts.

I know that this year is going to a fabulous one. Each year looks a little different, but it always includes a great group of dedicated Mentor Moms.
